I haven’t posted in a while. Life keeps moving really fast, spinning by. I find myself standing in the middle watching as things rush by, somewhat blurry, always in motion, like leaves in a hurricane. I keep thinking when things settle down, I’ll take time to understand it all. But can you really categorize and compartmentalize it all? Can we really organize it all in neat little columns and rows? Are we meant to?
We often talk about what people saw in biblical times – burning bushes, parting seas, lepers and blind men healed, Jesus walking among men. Today we may not see burning bushes and parting sees, but Gods miracles still abound. There are times God makes his presence very know. I often say “God is very loud” – shout from the rooftop loud.
In recent months I have seen a baby girl brought into the world against all odds. It wasn’t medical science. Medical science said no. God said yes.
I have witnessed a couple fight tooth and nail to save their marriage. Society said no. God said yes.
My good friend was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer. I am at the hospital now waiting while she’s in surgery. Six weeks ago, it was aggressive cancer. One week ago pathology showed no cancer. God said yes.
I have seen incredible grace under pressure, mercy when it shouldn’t be, love when it’s undeserved and Jesus among men. God said yes.
So maybe as the hurricane winds swirl, in the midst of it all, as the leaves blow by in a mixture of speed and slow motion, we just need to stop and not categorize or understand, but stop, just long enough to witness that God said yes, every day, over and over. Yes. Simply yes and it may have been a miracle.
