I sat in church today and listened to a sermon outlining Gods expectation of us. One of things I love most about my church is the practicality. Years back I was raised the New Age/Metaphysical world. My story of beginning my Godwalk is long and complicated, yet happened over a short 6 months. Coming out of it, I sat in church the first time and heard messages that were actually applicable to my life. Things I could apply along my Godwalk that helped guide me and steer me along the path. One reason I love North Coast Church.
So today we were asked “Do you believe in God?”. Easy, yes. Then we were asked, “Have you thought about how much God believes in you?” The fact that God believes in us more than we believe in him. Oh, wow. The practicality comes with the statement that God left us his kingdom. He left us his kingdom, his business, to run here on earth. As an employee my job is to make my boss, my company look good. Doing my best, using all my talent to further the company. To bring success. So with that in mind, am I making God look good everyday? Am I using all my given talent, given gifts to further His kingdom – to make God look good. Can people look at my life and see God shine through? Does everyone I meet notice a light, something different. Something that makes them wonder what is in my life that makes it so good?
Solid questions. If I do nothing else, I need to wake everyday to say “What can I do to make God look good today?” Or maybe, “What can I NOT do that will keep God looking good today?” It’s actually quite simple – I need to use my life well.

An excellent message – as the vast majority are at NCC. And as such, this one was spot on to provoke additional thought, conversation and action.
